Awhile back, I blogged about Chris and Kari’s in-home lifestyle maternity session. I talked about how Covid was breaking my heart because I had to cancel so many newborn sessions – and we all know newborns don’t keep. Well, miracle of miracles, Maryland opened back up to photographers and I was able to socially distance and wear a mask so that we could safely complete baby Liam’s newborn photos! Covid didn’t stop us, folks!
It was really cool to be able to re-create some shots from their maternity session and then to stretch my creativity to incorporate new rooms/angles/focal points to get a completely new gallery for their newborn session. I love the comparison shots we got (maternity vs newborn) and I’d love it if Kari shared how she prints and displays the images from each session, both separately and together. Covid didn’t stop us and now Kari gets all the memories from her pregnancy and the newborn time with Liam.
As I look ahead to tonight’s maternity session – and the sweat that will surely be pouring on this 90+ degree day (I love summer, I do. I love summer…trying to remind myself here), I have fond memories of the temperature controlled, air-conditioned comfort of Chris and Kari’s home. Covid didn’t stop us but the heat might put up a good fight 😂
As I mentally prepare (and wish I had purchased one of those fans that one wears around one’s neck to keep cool in the heat), enjoy this peek at adorable Liam. Before we know it, next May will be here and it’ll be time for his 1st birthday session, gah!!
