I’ve got a Columbia lifestyle newborn session headed your way today – an adorable redheaded boy named Teddy. I’ve photographed a handful of redheads during my four years of newborn photography and it never fails to strike me how cute they are. It’s actually hard to believe this was last September (yes, that’s how far behind on blogging I am – his mom actually just reached out to schedule his first year cake smash photos, eeep!). Covid has me existing in this strange time warp bubble…at any given moment, time can either feel like it’s accelerating or standing absolutely still. I can’t wrap my head around it.
Back to this Columbia lifestyle newborn session. Teddy joined his mom, dad and their doggo in this strange Covid life and it was a sweet morning documenting all things new in this household. Looking back at these photos again, I remember how Teddy was *super* hungry to start his session so mom Caroline snuggled up with him on the master bed and indulged his desire to hang out at the buffet. A Columbia lifestyle session goes at the pace of the newborn and we settled in to wait out his appetite. This allowed me to get multiple views of their gorgeous, light-filled master bedroom. I hope Caroline remembers the sweet endlessness of newborn nursing sessions when she looks back on these photos.
(Of course with the always loyal companion by her side.)
Once finished, Teddy snuggled up to mommy and then we called dad, Zach, up to get some family photos. I always love watching a new dad get all wrapped up in his tiny baby.
Teddy decided he wasn’t quite finished nursing so I wandered into the nursery to get some sweet baby room details. Then we plopped Teddy in his crib – the photo is usually the first time a Columbia lifestyle newborn spends time in the crib.
Wrap things up with some snuggly parent shots and you’ve got yourself a Columbia lifestyle newborn session!
