Some sessions just make your heart melt — and these twin milestone photos absolutely elicited that reaction in me.
Stephanie first reached out to me over the winter, hoping to book newborn photos for her identical twin girls, Quinn and Riley. Unfortunately, my schedule was already full (which always breaks my heart!), but we pivoted and scheduled something just as special: twin milestone photos at a day shy of five months old.
At this age, babies are starting to show off their personalities, and let me tell you—Quinn and Riley did not disappoint. Though they’re not sitting up just yet, they gave us the sweetest little smirks, wide-eyed stares, and that unmistakable twin connection that’s just magical to witness.
We met in my all-white studio in Burtonsville, MD—one of my favorite spaces for this type of session. The studio light emulates natural light just pouring in, making everything feel clean, airy, and serene. It was the perfect backdrop for these light and bright twin milestone photos, especially with such a gorgeous family in front of the lens.
Because the girls still need a little support, mom and dad (Stephanie and Kevin) were hands-on for much of the shoot—which honestly made it even better. These are the moments that matter most: the way Stephanie gazes down at her girls with so much love, or how Kevin gently supports them while sneaking a quick smile. It’s those in-between moments that tell a family’s story, especially during these early months that pass so quickly.
We posed Quinn and Riley together on the studio bed—they looked so cozy side-by-side, kicking their feet and lifting their heads just enough to melt us all. Then we gave them a little time individually on the bed as well as lounging on their backs in a Moses basket, cute in their white outfits, content and watchful. These setups are simple but timeless, letting the girls be the focus.
And of course, we made sure to capture a mix of combinations: both girls with mom, both girls with dad, and all four of them together as a family. These are the types of images that families treasure for generations.
If you’re considering twin milestone photos, five to eight months is such a wonderful age. Your babies are growing fast, their personalities are blooming, and they’re still little enough to snuggle in sweetly —especially with a little help from mom and dad 🤍
