Woodlawn Manor is one of my very favorite places to shoot. It has been such a tried and true place for me. I know exactly where to go for amazing light at any point during the session, morning or evening. I have done family sessions, maternity sessions, fall mini sessions, 30th birthday sessions, sooo many sessions there. The light is gorgeous spring, summer, fall, and winter, and Lauren and Danny got every bit of that stunning light for their Woodlawn Manor maternity photos.
Lauren is a fire fighter and Danny is a nurse and this bad-ass couple contacted me wanting to document the pregnancy of their first child. I always love documenting Woodlawn Manor maternity photos so I was baseline excited anyway. Then they stepped out of their car and I got my first glimpse of Lauren in her beautiful red dress and then my second look was of how striking of a couple they are together 😍
Not only were they pretty, but they had a good sense of humor. At one point, I teasingly instructed Danny to jump up and down to make Lauren laugh. I didn’t see what was going on behind me but my husband happened to be there taking behind-the-scenes footage for me. Darn if he didn’t capture Danny obediently jumping up and down to make Lauren smile (she didn’t need it, but it was cute that he was silly and did as I asked).
They brought the cutest onesie with them that cheekily confessed “My parents did not practice social distancing” and I am wholeheartedly on-board with that cutely irreverent type of humor.
Thank you, Lauren and Danny, for trusting me with your Woodlawn Manor maternity photos. I hope you look back on our session and have fond memories of that night just like I do.
