I met Lauren and Damon back in November when I took their gender reveal photos. The fact that they were expecting a baby girl and no one else knew was such a fun secret to be a part of and I couldn’t wait to meet baby Charlie when she arrived on March 27 during her in-home newborn photos.
Lauren and Damon elected to do in-home newborn photos which is quickly becoming my favorite type of session. This session was especially awesome not only because Lauren and Damon have redone practically their entire home – and beautifully, I might add – but also because I had the opportunity to showcase some of Lauren’s amazing woodworking skills. Lauren owns her own Etsy shop, Oh Rustic Day, making gorgeous handmade signs for the home. Her touch was all over Charlie’s nursery (and the rest of the house, as well) and I made sure to pay special attention to her fabulous handiwork.
If you need any home decor, be sure to look her up. Her woodworking skills are perfect if you’re looking for that perfect personalized touch for your own in-home newborn photos. She’s on Instagram here – give her a follow!
Oh, and funny story: when I was capturing Theo’s lifestyle newborn session, I, of course, paid attention to the nursery decor as I always do. Well, imagine my surprise when Lauren DMs me after seeing a sneak peek and says, “I think I see my signs!!” I asked Theo’s mom about the image in question (it’s up there on Theo’s blog, if you’re curious!) and she confirmed that it was a baby shower gift purchased from Oh Rustic Day. It’s a small world we live in, friends 😂
