I lo-o-o-o-ove taking senior portraits. I always leave completely amazed at these young adults who are poised to go off and make their own way in the world. My husband and I have three kids, a son (9) and two daughters (8 and 6) and I feel like we’re still very much in the stage of being needed All The Time so I struggle to imagine a day when my own ducklings are old enough to impress an adult stranger with all their confident independence and, *gasp* manners. From what I hear, it happens overnight, so while I’m over here sobbing quietly at that idea, allow me to introduce you to my latest amazing high school senior.
Olivia herself contacted me to set up her own senior portraits. She impressed me over and over with every email, phone call and text. We had originally intended to do her session last fall but the weather suddenly turned cold the weekend of her session and she opted to wait for spring. In keeping with the soggy weather that has been ever-present this year, the days leading up to her April session looked like we were going to be dealing with a gloomy day – and I use the word gloomy as a euphemism for high chances of severe thunderstorms 😂😭
Her session fell at the beginning of Spring Break week and I didn’t have a lot of wiggle room in my own schedule so we persevered and managed to shoot her session and get home before any rain fell on us!! It was basically fantastic in every way – my friend Rachel volunteered to come cart my gear around for me so we picked Olivia up from her home (giving Olivia’s momma the day off!!) and the three of us gallivanted around downtown Annapolis and had ourselves a wonderful time.
Everyone, meet Olivia…she’s a doll and I wish her all the best as she attends Loyola in the fall in pursuit of her degree in Early Childhood Education ❤️
