I love taking photos at Woodlawn Manor. I’m always guaranteed the trifecta of photography must-haves when I do a session there: great light, variety of locations, interesting textures that make the photos fun to look at. I’ve shot SO many sessions at Woodlawn that I know exactly when to go to which location on the property to get the best lighting. That probably means that I should find a new go-to location but, until then, I’m always happy for a trip there.
This family was up for a shoot at Woodlawn Manor. Melanie reached out last spring wanting to update her family photos before they made a move across the pond to England for her husband’s job. Thanks to Covid, the “summer” session became a fall session and it also turned into a MATERNITY session, surprise! Melanie wanted to mostly focus on the family but we snuck in a few shots of the pregnant tummy that was a growing Genevieve!
The family went mostly casual for their photos but Melanie did request an outfit change: they had all been part of a recent wedding and Melanie wanted the girls to have one last hurrah in their fancy dresses (and in her own dress while it still fit!) so we shot the first half of the session in one outfit and then did a costume change to get some dressed up moments. The girls changed first and I took FULL advantage of the time momma used to change capturing the girls frolicking in the princess dresses – So CUTE.
I can’t get over how sweet these little ones were. When I pulled out my rocking chair, each girl took a turn posing in it and I was squealing inside as they each took their turn 😍
I was lucky enough to get a chance to see this family one more time before their move to England actually became a reality. Check out their spring family photos – with Genevieve on the outside! – here! (And this time, we gave old faithful a break and shot at the Howard County Conservancy 😉)
