Back when I started my photography business, I had no idea that my heart would lead me to wish that my name would come up first if someone ever googled “newborn photographer near me”. I really didn’t know that I would end up specializing in maternity, motherhood, newborn and first year milestones photography. At the time, I took any job that came my way and was grateful for it. I’ll be honest, I didn’t love all of the portrait sessions. And – even more honestly – I wasn’t really very good. I hadn’t yet figured out my style. I didn’t know how to edit the way I do now. I didn’t know what my passion was going to be so I just put my head down, did it all and tried to learn as much as I could in the process.

Thankfully, the narrative has changed. I’ve been in business for over two years. I’ve shot a LOT of different things and I’ve learned that my heart is with the babies and the mommas. I’ve taken a bunch of classes from several different photographers whose work I appreciate and admire. I’ve developed a bright and airy style that makes my eyes happy when I see it. I know what I like and I work hard to achieve it every single time. That’s why, when Alicia searched “newborn photographer near me” on Instagram, and my profile showed up, I found my ideal client (and hopefully she would say that she found her ideal photographer – but you’d have to ask her).

Sweet newborn Lila was sleepy and dreamy. Adorable big sister Audrey was in LOVE with the camera (or maybe the camera was in love with her). Alicia and Jake snuggled up together and canoodled and cherished their precious babies, looking like a couple in a magazine ad in the process. Their decor was neutral and airy, the rooms were big and light-filled, they took instruction like champions to ensure that the resulting photos looked natural and unposed – like a family beautifully adjusting to becoming a brand new family of four.
